What data Sagas processes, why, who with, for how long and how to exercise your rights.

This translation is provided for your convenience. If there is any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.

  • You can browse the catalogue and listen to free episodes without an account and without giving us any personal data.
  • An account only needs your email: you sign in with a code we send you, no passwords.
  • Voice notes are optional and are only published if you agree. We transcribe them on our own computers and an Anthropic AI reviews the text before they are published.
  • Listening statistics with identifiers are only switched on if you accept them.
  • We do not sell your data or show ads.

Who is responsible

The controller of your data is Missing information: POR COMPLETAR (nombre o razón social del titular), tax ID Missing information: POR COMPLETAR (NIF), address Missing information: POR COMPLETAR (domicilio). You can write to Missing information: POR COMPLETAR (email de contacto) about anything related to privacy.

We have not appointed a data protection officer because we are not required to.

What data we process and why

If you browse and listen without an account

To deliver pages and audio, our hosting provider processes technical connection data such as your IP address, browser and the page requested. We do not store your IP address in our database. Player progress and your language are saved on your own device (see the cookie policy).

Legal basis: our legitimate interest in providing the website you visit securely (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

If you have an account

  • Your email and sign-in data: sign-up date, confirmation and last sign-ins. You sign in with a 8-digit code or a link we email you.
  • Your browser's time zone and language, saved the first time you sign in: we use them to top up your credits when your day starts and to show Sagas in your language.
  • Your public name and an automatically generated avatar.
  • Your credits and their movements, the episodes you have unlocked, your listening progress and My list.

Legal basis: performance of the contract you accept with the terms of use (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR).

If you record voice notes

We explain this in detail in Voice notes.

Listening statistics

We always record, without identifying you, which episode is played, whether it starts, progresses or finishes, the position in the audio, the website language and the approximate country. Without identifiers this data is anonymous.

Only if you accept analytics do we add a random identifier for your device, your account if you are signed in, your approximate region and city, the page you came from and your browser. Legal basis: your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR and Art. 22(2) of the Spanish LSSI), which you can withdraw at any time.

We also count the answers to the cookie notice anonymously: the option chosen, language, country and day, with no identifier.

Security and abuse prevention

To stop automated abuse (too many plays, sign-in attempts or voice notes) we limit the rate of requests. For listening statistics we use an encrypted fingerprint of the IP address that changes every day, never the IP itself, and delete it within 48 hours. Our provider's sign-in service limits sign-in attempts per IP address. Legal basis: legitimate interest in protecting the service and its users (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

Emails

We only send you the emails needed to sign in and essential notices about the service or your account. We do not send advertising without your consent.

Voice notes

Voice notes are recordings of up to 30 seconds that you can leave at a moment of an episode. They are optional.

What they contain

  • The recording of your voice, its length, format and size, and the moment of the episode it responds to.
  • Your public name and avatar, shown next to the note.
  • The transcript of the audio and the detected language.
  • The result of the automated review, the moderation decision and its date.
  • The likes and reports it receives, and the version of the consent you accepted.

Why and on what basis

We publish your note for the listeners of that episode and may include it in the Voicemail (“Buzón de voz”), the track that plays at the end of the episode. The legal basis is your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR), which you give before your first note by ticking the box “My voice note may be heard on Sagas and appear in the Voicemail at the end of the episode”. We store the accepted version (voz-v1) with each note.

Moderating notes before publishing them is our legitimate interest in keeping the service safe and respectful (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR).

We do not use your voice to identify you or build voice profiles, we do not use it to train artificial intelligence models and we do not create synthetic voices from it.

How they are reviewed

  • Transcription on our computers. We turn the audio into text with open-source software running on our own computers. The audio is not sent to any provider for this.
  • Automated review of the text. We send only the transcript (without your name, email or the audio) to Anthropic, whose Claude AI model classifies it as fine, doubtful or clearly inappropriate.
  • Decision. Fine notes are published. Doubtful ones are reviewed by a person before deciding. Clearly inappropriate ones are rejected and not published.
  • Reports. Any listener with an account can report a note. If 3 different people report it, it goes back to human review.

If you think we rejected a note by mistake, write to Missing information: POR COMPLETAR (email de contacto) and a person will review it.

Who can hear it

An approved note can be heard by people with an account who have access to that episode. If your note is included in the Voicemail, anyone who can listen to that episode can hear it, including without an account if the episode is free, together with your public name. To build the Voicemail we clean the audio (noise and volume) and join it with other notes and the series theme; a person approves it before it is published.

How to withdraw it

You can delete any note at any time from the episode or from Profile › My voice notes. We delete the recording and its transcript immediately, and any Voicemail that includes it stops playing straight away. That Voicemail's file is deleted or rebuilt without your note within 30 days at most. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing carried out before.

The artificial intelligence providers we use to create the series (scripts, voices, music and images) do not receive any listener data.

International transfers

Some providers are located in the United States or may access data from there. These transfers rely on the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework where the provider is certified and, in any case, on the standard contractual clauses approved by the European Commission. You can ask us for more information at Missing information: POR COMPLETAR (email de contacto).

No automated decision has legal effects on you. If the automated review rejects a voice note, you can ask for a person to review it.

If you think we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Spanish Data Protection Agency (www.aepd.es) or to the authority where you live.

Minors

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account and record voice notes. If we find out an account belongs to someone under that age, we will delete it.

Security

All connections are encrypted (HTTPS). You sign in with one-time codes instead of passwords. Voice notes and episode audio are kept in private storage and served through temporary links. Each person can only read their own data, and team access is limited to what is needed to moderate and run the service.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy in an important way, we will announce it on the website and, if you have an account, by email or inside Sagas. If the voice notes consent text changes, we will ask you again before your next note.
